The Countdown is on for the 7th Annual African Muzik Magazine Awards and Music Festival (AFRIMMA) Edition. Diaspora’s largest African music award ceremony that provides a forum to encourage the uniqueness of African music by taking top African talents to celebrate African music on the same stage around the world. African music uncovers new talents every year and the past year is no different from various stars blowing from South Africa to Chad, from Benin to Madagascar, and so on.

The nominees list this year features a raft of well-established talents but also stars a host of emerging talents in what appears to be a significant paradigm change on the African musical scene. Revered names such as Burna Kid, Diamond Platnumz, Aya Nakamura, Soraia Ramos, Davido, Master KG all won nominations while newbies such as Oxlade, J Derobie, Zeynab and so on were nominated for their first AFRIMMA. This year promises to be a lot of fun and excitement with plenty of new names joining the list as well as musical behemoths who have preserved an impressive consistency streak.

The AFRIMMA AFRIMMA African Muzik Magazine Awards has reached a new dimension with its first Virtual Awards show revealed. Owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 7th Edition of Africa’s largest music award in Diaspora funded by Majority is expected to become a virtual affair. However, this will not stop AFRIMMA from flying the African cultural flag as we countdown to November 15th, 2020, an epoch and history making gathering.

The AFRIMMA Virtual Awards 2020 is expected to be the first of its kind in the world of African music, with performances from numerous artists around the world and fans recording concerts, speeches, and award presentations on different streaming platforms. Anticipation is high and enthusiasm hits the rooftop when the nominee’s list is posted. That is your opportunity for your favorite artist to make a comment. Go to and vote now for your favorite artists and songs as we plan for a November epic display that would improve the fast-growing genre of African music.
