Pitso Mosimane has made a huge mistake, Teko Modise. Former midfielder Teko Modise of Bafana Bafana said he thinks former Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane made a big mistake by leaving Sundowns to join Al Ahly ‘s Egyptian giants.
The 56-year-old who suddenly resigned at Mamelod Sundowns signed a two-year deal to become the first black African to lead the Red Devils. Sources close to the deal who spoke to KickOff ‘Jingles’ are expected to receive a whopping USD 270 000 (R4.5 million) every month.
This stunning number, which translates to R54 million a year, is even more stunning if you consider it to be exclusive to winning bonuses.
To put this amount into perspective, the Soweto-born coach reportedly received between R800 000 and R1 million a month, including winning bonuses, after signing a new four-year contract back in May.
Despite the immense amounts of money involved, however, Teko Modise still claims that Pitso Mosimane is making a huge mistake that he will soon regret. Modise believes that the burden that comes with coaching the eight-time continental champions would not be able to handle Mosimane. Following the performance of Swiss tactician Rene Weiler, Mosimane has already been ordered to win the CAF Champions League.
